New social networking site helps women find mentors and be mentors
For Immediate Release - On January 11th, 2008 lifestyle/career coach, author, and motivational speaker Gabrielle Bernstein launched HerFuture.com, a social networking site that connects women looking for mentors with women looking to mentor. Herfuture.com provides women throughout the world the opportunity to get guidance about in all areas of their life, as well as to share what they have learned.
"Many young women don’t know how to ask for a mentor or where to find one," says Bernstein, herself a young entrepreneur who started two businesses at the age of 22. "This site provides a solution for typical inhibitors such as shyness, fear, or a lack of positive female role models."
HerFuture.com is a free service with trouble-free functionality, catering to women with varying degrees of computer skills. Users create a profile and immediately have opportunities to join groups with likeminded women whether they are athletes or artists. Members share their goals and desires, and are encouraged to reach our for advice.
The mentors on the site range from entrepreneurs to stay at home moms. Gabrielle’s philosophy is that it is equally as important to be a mentor as it is to have one.
Motivational women such as supermodel and philanthropist Petra Nemcova and bestselling author Karen Salmansohn are speaking out about the importance of herfuture.com and Bernstein's brand, Falling in Love with Your Future (see bio). "HerFuture.com and Falling in Love with Your Future reminds young women that we have the most amazing gift in our hands—the gift of creation," Nemcova says. "We create our own reality: Sadness or joy, struggle or success, love or fear. It is in your own hands!" Other influencers such as NIKE athlete Ary Nunez have profiles up on the site.
